On the first day at the Dune resort (near Pondicherry, 2 hours from Chennai) we got there around 3.30 in the afternoon. Dune resort is an eco-friendly place with 55 rooms/houses; the food is very healthy - yuck! Then we got bikes and rode to the pool. The pool is an utterly gorgeous sight. But it's a little weird because the first part of it is very deep - my dad couldn't even stand in there. Something funny is that my mom says she couldn't carry me around in the pool but she did without knowing because I grabbed on a strap of her swim suit and she dragged me across the pool. Later that evening at dinner, I ordered french fries and fish sticks, because that was the only thing that sounded good on the menu. But the french fries were very very healthy and the fish was utterly disgusting. That night my dad and me went to a little temple and I sat on the floor of it even if it had ants on it to skype my Seattle class (Christy's class). After I skyped, me and my dad decided to get dessert. I ordered a chocolate crepe and he ordered jill jill something. The crepe was so very delicious (i had it again the next day). The next day, we went to have breakfast and an early morning (or should I say late) swim. Later at lunch daddy had some of his old friends over and they had a kid, and after I had my lunch, we played on a really cool playground - they had an awesome zipline! Then I went swimming with the kid, Sidhart. Then after we swam we all went back to our room for a cup of coffee (except the grownups drank the coffee). After I had a quick shower, we all went up to......milk......cows! Little did we know that right after we milked the cows, we would be able to go into a cage filled with turkeys, hens, roosters and chicks, and even a small bunny. After we saw those animals we were in for another big surprise. We were going to feed.....baby calves! It was so fun! There was a very pretty calf with brown eyes and a serious face - I named her "Brown Eyes" because I thought it was a cute name. After that a dog came up and started liking Brown Eyes and the funny thing was that after that she started licking the dog. And then a mother cow fed her baby calf - it was a very beautiful sight. Next I made some pottery. Amare did too. The next day we went back on our way back home. We ate at a restaurant called EC Dhaba. It was connected with a place called Emu Zoo. We went there and the person who was taking care of the animals said we could go in there and feed a bunch of rabbits. I thought rabbits were shy but these rabbits came galloping up to us. it was so sweet. I got to feed so many rabbits some carrots. When we were done giving them carrots, we got to feed........Turkeys! We fed them garlic. It was kind of funny. My mom said dad used to carry around turkeys and that is how he got back problems. We got home and rested.
Dhani, Dune sounded cool-of course I would love the healthy food!!:) Maybe we could go there together when I come, although you and Sahaj would starve!:)
ReplyDeleteI hope the skyping with your class went well! I bet they were really interested in what you are doing there.
Miss you!
Dhani, you're having so many amazing experiences! Feeding all the animals - and milking cows! And lots of swimming it sounds like. :) Weather here has started turning to fall already - grey skies and it will start raining any day. Eliza and I managed to get in a few trips to pools & a beach just before it turned, thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteWe love you lots - thanks very much for sharing your thoughts in your blog!
Love,
Elin & Eliza
