Vedya's birthday party

Do you remember my friend, Vedya in my class? We all went for her bday party in a cinema called Escape in a mall, called Express Avenue, not far from our house. When we were driving there, my friends noticed my ipod touch and we all started playing there. Once we got there, we ordered some popcorn and watched "Zookeeper" It was a very amazing movie. Then we had a nice dinner of pizza, pasta, french fries and garlic bread and for dessert we had ice cream.

bangolorooo and masanagudi

we went to bangalore a couple of weeks ago during a hindu festival for 5 days - it was a 30 min flight. bangalore is one of the high tech hubs of india, and very cosmopolitan (a note from my mom).
when we got there we hailed a cab to jayashree, mahesh and siddarth's house (old friends of dad's)
and when we got there we saw a buffalo and a cow tied at the end oft the street. we went inside the apartment and i started working on a book i am writing.
and then i got to swim in a gorgeous pool. i was not allowed to swim earlier because i had terrible ear infection.
after this visit we went to visit our other friends in bangalore, bejoy, beena and their daughter, nethra. she is 14 and very cool. after that, we all went to masanagudi, a national park/forest, 4 hours from banagalore. we rode in a cab with one of dad's other friends, aladi.
on the way we saw elephants, and there were these dumb people right behind the elephant. this is a dumb thing to do because the elephant mom could come charge and kill you.
and we also saw very very very cute monkeys.
when we got to the lodge, the owners were very friendly. first, we saw a little cute pug named nathu. he was friendly and fun to play with. and after nethra got over carsickness and being tired, we both played table tennis (ping pong) and badminton.
then when we had an amazing lunch of potatoes and chicken. they cooked me and amare chicken every single meal (except for breakfast).
the next day we went for an elephant ride and a safari. we saw elephants have a bath and we also got to.........ride on them! we also saw a mahoot and his elephant.
after that we went on a jungle safari. we saw a bison and an elephant family. it was so pretty.
we stayed one more night and then we went home. the night before we went elephant watching
this night we went to bejoy's treehouse (in the same lodge we were all staying at) and looked for elephants
the next morning we saw that there was fresh elephant poop in front of our house!!!!!!

My first playdate

Today I was invited to go to my cousin, Karun's, house for a playdate. He was having a girl from my class over and my aunt, Priya, wanted to see if I wanted to come. I thought I would be intruding but I actually had a lot of fun. First, the girl's name is Anishka and she was really nice. First, we started playing Wii Tennis but it didn't work out because there were two power cuts - (Typical India.) Then we looked around Anishka's special thing called R4, which was a DS thing which could hold 170 games. ( I want it for Christmas.) It's really cool and she had two of the games I really wanted, "Imagine Babysitter" and "Imagine Detective". Then we played a game called Caroms - an Indian game (look it up, ) and Triangle Catch. We also played Monkey in the Middle. Then I had Karun come over. At first I ate dinner and he started playing one of my favorite DS games, "Imagine Resort Owner" but I pried him off it and we played a good ole game of Around the World Monopoly. It was fun! Then Karun had to go home and I am typing these two posts up.

Dune Resort

On the first day at the Dune resort (near Pondicherry, 2 hours from Chennai) we got there around 3.30 in the afternoon. Dune resort is an eco-friendly place with 55 rooms/houses; the food is very healthy - yuck! Then we got bikes and rode to the pool. The pool is an utterly gorgeous sight. But it's a little weird because the first part of it is very deep - my dad couldn't even stand in there. Something funny is that my mom says she couldn't carry me around in the pool but she did without knowing because I grabbed on a strap of her swim suit and she dragged me across the pool. Later that evening at dinner, I ordered french fries and fish sticks, because that was the only thing that sounded good on the menu. But the french fries were very very healthy and the fish was utterly disgusting. That night my dad and me went to a little temple and I sat on the floor of it even if it had ants on it to skype my Seattle class (Christy's class). After I skyped, me and my dad decided to get dessert. I ordered a chocolate crepe and he ordered jill jill something. The crepe was so very delicious (i had it again the next day). The next day, we went to have breakfast and an early morning (or should I say late) swim. Later at lunch daddy had some of his old friends over and they had a kid, and after I had my lunch, we played on a really cool playground - they had an awesome zipline! Then I went swimming with the kid, Sidhart. Then after we swam we all went back to our room for a cup of coffee (except the grownups drank the coffee). After I had a quick shower, we all went up to......milk......cows! Little did we know that right after we milked the cows, we would be able to go into a cage filled with turkeys, hens, roosters and chicks, and even a small bunny. After we saw those animals we were in for another big surprise. We were going to feed.....baby calves! It was so fun! There was a very pretty calf with brown eyes and a serious face - I named her "Brown Eyes" because I thought it was a cute name. After that a dog came up and started liking Brown Eyes and the funny thing was that after that she started licking the dog. And then a mother cow fed her baby calf - it was a very beautiful sight. Next I made some pottery. Amare did too. The next day we went back on our way back home. We ate at a restaurant called EC Dhaba. It was connected with a place called Emu Zoo. We went there and the person who was taking care of the animals said we could go in there and feed a bunch of rabbits. I thought rabbits were shy but these rabbits came galloping up to us. it was so sweet. I got to feed so many rabbits some carrots. When we were done giving them carrots, we got to feed........Turkeys! We fed them garlic. It was kind of funny. My mom said dad used to carry around turkeys and that is how he got back problems. We got home and rested.

New school

I am tired today so my mother is typing while I dictate. This very day, we went to visit my new school, Kids Central. It is really cool and exciting. What is really cool is that there are a lot more things outdoors, just like P.E. and Music. There is a lot of art in the school. But I really miss Seattle and would like to come back. What I didn't like that the first day that the kids weren't so friendly. My mother says it was because it was Project week but I think it is also a different culture here. My teacher's name is Sri Devi and there is a co-teacher called Kamala but we call our teachers, aunties. There are 10 kids in my class, including my cousin, Karun. There was also a new girl, visiting and trying out the school. We have the following specials next term, which starts Sept 19th - Indian music on Monday, Art on Tuesday, Movement on Wednesday, Western Music and Yoga on Thursday and P.E. twice a week.
You have to take off your shoes before you go into school!
Yesterday I had a beef hamburger, which is rare here (because cows are sacred) at this gorgeous restaurant, and Amare had a plate of spaghetti.
Tomorrow I am going to Pondicherry and we are going to try to skype my class (Christy's class) in Seattle. I will be sure to write a note about my trip there.
Pomegranates are my favorite food - here is a photo of me with my cousin, Amrit, eating it.

Today we went to one of my favorite bookstores, in it
there was really cool jewelery like Long plastic flowers they were Funky.
Then we went to the beach on the way there my mom show us a cool place called Senza ,
and you know what they gave fish spas!tiny fish nibble away bacteria and dead skin way from your feet.at the beach Amare and me ran towards the big waves(actually i could not run cause i sprained my ankle) The waves soaked us whenever the went back the tide tried to pull us towards sea our feet dug into the sand as the warm water ran back.
when i got out of the sea ,I found my body was sandy...and very itchy.
it was good thing thatha and pathis car had plastic on the seats because i would have made it very messy.

were here! when i stepped in to Chennai Jetway, the plane crew opened a door that led outside and it was hot! My thatha rented us a van and i got to sit up front! Our luggage took up the whole back seats where there were benches with no seat belts. In India some people don't wear seat belts. When we got to thatha and pathis house we all went to bed.(It was 1 o'clock.)I could not fall asleep for awhile, my mom said i was overly tired and also had jetlag. When i woke up ( at 9)my parents said earlier wild green parrots had flown by. i was a little upset they didn't wake me up but i got over it. later i we went to check out our apartment it was just downright plain and boring.my parents said i could fix my room up the only nice fact was i got a little boxed up terrace i decided i could do art in it because it was right next to a tall tree and fruit stand it was an amazing view!
we left and went out for pizza i was exhausted except then my great aunts came over and i was too tired too talk so i went to sleep
Dhani
and here is a note from Amare India is fun
